hoho.. went to work at expo today for some textile exhibition. It's VERY far. But after working, I got to learn more about the people-to-people relations... and more about work in the service line. It's an eye-opening experience for mi though. haha... kinda fun la.. yup.. although it's super tiring.. coz haf to get up so early in the morning like 530am... dun think i woke up so early to go school or anywhere before. hahaha....

Through this work, I got to know that in the workplace:
1) you juz have to learn everything on ur own. No one can be there for u everytime, and u juz have to explore everything on ur own. No one will be telling u anything. You are on ur own.

why i said this? ... coz when i'm working, i was assigned to be an information counter girl. ALONE!! and all my other frenz are relations officers (aka ushers), yup.. den i have to depend on all the notes the organisers have given mi on friday during that training. I tell u.. the training session is kinda redundant. The in-charge didn't tell us wad to do.. she juz show us around the expo.. and nothing else.. and juz give us all the notes.
Then, on monday when we went to the different counters.. all of us like so blur.. dun even know where is where... coz the questions that the businessmen, who attended this exhibition, asked are so..... how to say.. hmm.. are not being told by the organisers.

But i was glad and thank God that He has somehow put this girl to mi... she is oso an usher.. but she was assigned to usher the people in front of my counter.. so i asked her to come into the counter to sit with mi or else i very blur... and the counter is so big!! Not only will i have to sell catalogues.. i oso have to provide information.. collect money.. very busy...
So, she will help mi to ask the organiser where the places that the businessmen wanted to go. coz we are not sure ourselves too. she is so called my 'runner'. ya... den on the first day, we duno anything, luckily got the notes wif mi den keep referring. during my free time, mi and tat girl will look at our notes.. to find out more information. everything haf to learn ourselves coz the frustrating thing is that the organisers themselves dun even know those places.. haiz.... ask them oso no use.. den they shoot us back somemore when my fren went to ask her abt some place.

The organiser was like : where are u from?
My fren : from the info counter
the organiser give my fren a look that implies that info is suppose to know all these things..

Then, we were like.. huh?? wad is this... they nv organise properly... oso nv train us.. how we know.. she herself oso duno lo... wad kind of organiser is this... ??? but we nv say la.. juz think in our hearts...

2) sometimes, if u duno, juz direct them to somewhere... haha
this is somehow pushing responsibilities, but sometimes, really haf no idea.. so juz direct them to the relevant counters. haha.... :P

3) be nice to the customers
hmm.. if really have no idea.. den smile to them nicely, tell them that we are not sure.. or suggest some alternatives where they can get their information other then us. haha... yup.. think they'll be happy enuf.. at least they have somewhere to go.. other den juz hanging ard not knowing where to go... like so poor thing...

haiz.. overall.. think that the service industry need to make alot of improvement. There's still a long way to go.. really...
