It's the first time I went for training lesson that the company organises. It was an eye-opening experience for me. Never had I know so much on hoses. There are so many different types of hoses in the industries. Like rotarty hoses, hydraulic hoses, acid chemical hoses and so on.. but when the person ask us about wad is pressure equals to... none of us know the answer. I studied so hard for this subject, Physics, and I actually forgotten all the formulas!!!! OH!! so embarassing... somehow, what we studied come to use once in a while too. haha.....
I'm actually quite glad that I worked in this company as it gives me a wider knowledge on the marine, oil and gas industries. I read in the TODAY talking about some oil rigs... and the business of oil rigs companies are doing quite well. Before I worked here, I don't even haf an idea what all these oil rigs are about... so not so bad working here.. excluding all the long hours of work. hahaa....
Juz realised that my working experience revolve around the marine sector. During attachment, the company I worked for deals with paint, not any ordinary paint but those epoxy paint... which is painted on the vessels, so that the vessels will not corrode so easily. The second company is dealiung with containers.. sea containers.. whenever companies need to ship out their goods to the other port, the container is an essential need. Next is this job.. doing on selling of pipes, tools and alot of other equipments for the marine, oil and gas companies.
It seems like a cycle. We need to ship our goods, which are the pipes, tools.. blah blah.. so need to ship in containers.. The ships/ vessels carrying the containers have been in the sea for a long time and withstanding against all weathers.. soon, the ships began to corrode, colours begin to fade. So the marine paint company will sell the paint to them to protect their vessels. Cool huh?
God has paved this pth for me... to learn more about the marine sector. He actually linked everything up for me.. Wow.. everything is in His plans. I wonder what will be His next move for me.
Still pondering on whether to register for uni next year or the year after next. Is 1 year of experience enough for mi? Shld I stay on a bit longer? This company is good in the sense that I got to learn and they gif mi the opportunity to learn and are willing to teach me. It's juz that the work is really tiring and busy busy... can't take the stress most of the time.
To think back, are all the companies the same? or even worse?
