One of my friend commented, ' How come you don't want to work OT? It's good!' Hmm, forgotten who said this but no matter wad, I don't like to work OT even though there might be OT pay.



Work OT = more money (double the money you work during normal hours)



But I personally feel that monetary values are not so important to me, I rather knock off on time to go home to rest and enjoy myself at home, spending my time with my family and friends who are online. Maybe some may think I'm stupid for not working OT and earn more money.



What's more important to me is my freedom rather than tying myself down with workloads and earning more. It's very stressed coz you'll have to work after office hours, and it's depressing... especially for me. I will pity myself, like very ke lian... and get so tired the next day. Well, no offence in pin-pointing anyone.. dun be mistaken yea? (",)



Perhaps it's what people desire. I agreed with what this email sent by a friend. It's speaking how people like us are behaving in this reality.


A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university lecturer. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.



Offering his guests coffee, the lecturer went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups: porcelain, plastic, glass, some plain looking and some expensive and exquisite, telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.


When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the lecturer said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the better cups and are eyeing each other's cups."



"Now, if Life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change."



"Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it." So folks, don't let the cups drive you...enjoy the coffee instead.
